United Kingdom
London Heathrow Airport (LHR)
Heathrow
is one of the world's busiest international airports. Operating 24
hours a day 365 days a year, Heathrow has five terminals and two
runways. All terminals have a selection of shops and cafes and only the
departure lounge of terminal four has public showers. The Servisair
Executive Lounge in terminals one and three, offers free alcoholic and
soft drinks, internet access, computer points, phones, faxes, TVs and a
selection of newspapers and magazines. The 4Deck Lounge, including the
Main Deck (family lounge), Enterprise Deck (business area), Upper Deck
(sports lounge) and the Flight Deck, is located on terminal four. The
4Deck Lounge has a dedicated business zone and three floors of
entertainment. It takes about 30 minutes to an hour by car to travel
from Heathrow to Central London and 15 to 20 minutes by train.
China
Hong Kong International Airport (HKG)
Providing
a world-class experience, Hong Kong International Airport has two
terminals, an array of retail outlets, entertainment centres including
the 4D Extreme Screen and public internet facilities. Connected to
Terminal One is the Regal Airport Hotel, featuring 1,171 rooms,
extensive meeting and conference facilities and an extensive array of
high quality restaurants. Qantas First Lounge is located on departure
level 7 on the north concourse and Qantas Business Lounge is located on
departure level 5 (entrance via level 6 opposite gate 15) on the north
concourse. A taxi one way to Central or Causeway Bay on Hong Kong Island
is about $47. Alternatively $38 to Tsim Sha Tsui on Kowloon.
Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK)
Beijing
Capital International Airport has three terminals with the majority of
international and domestic flights using terminal 3. The airport has a
business centre with Internet access, fax and computer facilities. Air
China Business Class Lounge and Premier Lounge are located at terminal 2
and there is another Premier Lounge at Terminal 3E. Business services,
including fax, photocopying and computer facilities are also available
in the VIP lounges. Alternatively, there are hotels close to the airport
which provide business services. These include the Airport Garden Hotel
and the Capital Airport Hotel. The Airport-City Shuttle Bus departs
from outside Arrivals and taxis are available at designated ranks. Taxi
to the city centre is between 45 and 60 minutes.
Chile
Santiago International Airport (SCL)
Santiago's
domestic and international terminals are housed in the same building
and are internally connected. Car hire desks are located on the first
floor and a business centre equipped with a meeting room and cafe is
located in the International Terminal. Videoconferencing, fax, Internet
and computer workstation services are available. There is also Internet
access points located throughout the building. In addition, a large
meeting room accommodating up to 40 people and offering a private
bathroom, video, TV and transparency facilities is available for hire.
Lounges include LAN Airlines' Neruda Lounge and the Mistral Lounge,
American Airlines' Admirals Club and the SkyTeam alliance which are in
addition to the unaffiliated lounges.
France
Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)
Located
23 kilometres north east of Paris, France's main airport has three
terminals. Terminal 1 is the oldest. Terminal 2 was originally built
exclusively for Air France and since then it had been expanded
significantly and now also hosts other airlines. The third terminal (T3,
formerly T9) hosts charter and low cost airlines. Terminals 1, 2 and 3
are linked by the CDGVAL airport metro line. A train and shuttle service
connect to the airport as does the Airport Connection Shuttle, which is
a door-to-door minibus service to the city centre (journey time - 75
minutes). A taxi to the city centre will take around 45 minutes. There
are work zones in terminals 1 and 2 where travellers can conduct
business and recharge their electronic equipment. The Sheraton Paris
Airport Hotel and Conference Centre is located inside terminal 2. VIP
lounges are available.
India
Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Mumbai (BOM)
Mumbai's primary airport has three terminals and is located about 27 kilometres north of Mumbai's city centre. The airport terminals are spread over two different locations. Terminal 2 is the international terminal located at Sahar. Terminal 1 at Santa Cruz is for all domestic flights. A free inter-terminal coach service transfers passengers between the terminals every 20 minutes during the day. A railway reservation counter is situated in terminal 2, for connections to the metro rail system; a city bus service to Mumbai and a pre-paid coach service to destinations in the southern states are available. There is a business centre and executive lounges in the departure areas of both terminals. Facilities include Internet access, a fax machine and a shoe polishing machine. Airlines provide Business Class lounges and there is a designated executive lounge. There are also extensive conference, banqueting and business facilities available at the nearby Leela Kempinski Hotel.
New Zealand
Auckland International Airport (AKL)
More
than 70 per cent of visitors enter or leave New Zealand via Auckland
Airport, which is located 21 kilometres south of Auckland's city centre.
A free shuttle bus runs between the terminals although passengers can
walk between the terminals. Airbus provides a bus service between the
airport and city centre and taxi ranks are situated to the west of the
international terminal and in front of the domestic terminals. A taxi to
the city costs around $68 one way to the city. Business facilities
include two conference rooms on the top floor of the international
terminal and there are a further three rooms in the Air New Zealand
section of the domestic terminal. Laptop computer connections are
available in the reading/writing area. Qantas International First and
Business Lounges are located on the departures level 2 in the
international terminal. There is no Qantas Club available at the
domestic terminal.
United States of America
John F Kennedy Airport (JFK)
There
are eight operating airline terminals at New York's JFK Airport,
terminals one to eight and the parking areas are located around the
central terminal area, which is divided into five areas. Fixed price
(yellow) taxis operate from John F Kennedy International Airport to
Manhattan. Fares are US$45 one way, excluding tolls and gratuities in
either direction. Fares to other locations including Queens, Bronx,
Brooklyn and Staten Island are metered. The AirTrain departs regularly
to Jamaica Station where connections are available to the New York City
Subway system. Fares start at US$5 one way. Qantas Club members can use
the British Airways Terraces Lounge in Terminal 7, which is located
airside, above the departures level. In terminal 8, the American
Airlines Admirals Club is located on the upper level, after security.
JFK terminals offer fax, computer, photocopying and courier services.
These services are available to all passengers, except at terminal 6
where they are for members only. Data ports are located throughout most
terminals. Wireless Internet access is also available. Conference
facilities are also available at the on-site Ramada Plaza Hotel which
has meeting rooms available and a business centre.
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
Los
Angeles International Airport's central complex features nine passenger
terminals connected by a U-shaped two-level roadway. Curbside baggage
check-in is available on the upper departure level. There is a free
shuttle service from the airport which runs to the Aviation Station on
the green line of the metro light rail network. Taxis and shuttles stop
outside the terminals on the lower/arrivals level. Authorised taxis
serve the airport and display fixed fare tariffs to local destinations.
Passengers will receive a lounge invitation at check-in. The Qantas Club
lounges are located on the 5th floor of the Tom Bradley International
Terminal, after the North concourse security check point which is next
to the Qantas check-in counters. In Terminal 4 the American Airlines
Admirals Club is located beyond Gate 41. The lounge is available to
First and Business class passengers travelling on a Qantas or oneworld
carrier, Gold Frequent Flyers travelling on a Qantas or oneworld carrier
and Qantas Club members travelling on Qantas, American Airlines or
British Airways. Wireless Internet access is available in all public
spaces at the airport. There is a boardroom in terminal 3 and two
conference rooms in terminal 1. General conference facilities are
available at nearby hotels including the Hilton Los Angeles Airport.
United Arab Emirates
Dubai International Airport (DXB)
Dubai
International Airport is located four kilometres southeast of Dubai's
city centre. The airport has three terminals including Emirates' newest
passenger facility, terminal 3. An airport shuttle is available between
terminals and taxis are available 24 hours a day at arrival areas. The
Connect Business Centre in the Dubai International Hotel has five
meeting rooms accommodating up to 18 delegates and a conference room for
up to 60 delegates. The deluxe five star hotel is located on the
arrivals level of Sheikh Rashid terminal and occupies two floors above
that. There are several First and Business Class lounges many with
workstations and Internet access in terminals 1 and 2. Meeting rooms are
also available adjacent to terminal 2 in the Regus facility.
Singapore
Singapore Changi Airport (SIN)
One
of the busiest aviation hubs in the world, Changi Airport has three
terminals. The airport has a range of shower, fitness and spa facilities
where travellers can rejuvenate. Business travellers looking to unwind
should head to the Rainforest Lounge or the Fish Spa and Reflexology
centres in terminal 1, the Plaza Premium Lounge in terminal 2 or the
Ambassador Transit Lounge in terminal 3. A joint Qantas/British Airways
lounge is located on level 3. The MRT train station is located in
terminal 2. A train to the city takes under 30 minutes and bus stations
are located in the basements of each terminal. Business centres are
located in terminal 1 at the Transit Hotel, Transit Mall East level 3
and the Transit Hall south in terminal 2.
Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL)
Kuala
Lumpur is about one hour's drive from the city centre. The airport has
two terminals, the main terminal and the satellite terminal, both of
which are connected by an automatic train. In addition there is a
separate terminal for budget airlines known as the LCC terminal. Besides
the 80-room hotel at the Satellite Building, there is a 450-room
five-star Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur International Airport hotel a 10
minute indoor walk away. The Kuala Lumpur Express is a direct rail
service between the airport and the City Air terminal. The KLIA Transit
is another high speed commuter train between the airport and city.
Airline lounges in the international airport are situated in the
Satellite Building on the mezzanine level. The Plaza Premium Lounge is
equipped with telephones, faxes, Internet and videoconferencing
facilities, as well as postal and secretarial services.
Thailand
Bangkok International Airport (BKK)
The
airport is located in Racha Thewa in the Bang Phli district of Samut
Prakan province, 30 kilometers east of Bangkok. Airline lounges are
located on level 3, some of which offer First Class and business
travellers luxury spa and massage rooms, a fine-dining area, slumber
rooms with full-size flat beds, a business centre, a host of private
meeting rooms, state-of-the-art video and visual entertainment rooms,
shower rooms, deluxe seating areas and built-in check-in facilities.
Above the underground rail link station and in front of the passenger
terminal building is the 600-room hotel operated by Accor Group under
the Novotel Suvarnabhumi brand. It's expected the 28 kilometre Airport
Rail Link connecting the airport with Phaya Thai and Makkasan in
downtown Bangkok will be in service before April 2010.
South Africa
Johannesburg International Airport (JNB)
Johannesburg
International Airport is South Africa's leading airport and the main
gateway into the country. There are six terminals with terminals 1, 2
and 6 for international flights and terminals 3, 4 and 5 with domestic
traffic. The Qantas Club is located on the lower level of the departures
lounge. Magic Bus Airport Transfers has an office on the ground floor
of the domestic Parkade building and operates scheduled minibus services
to and from the city. Official taxis operate from the bus and taxi
terminal in the multi-storey car park building behind the car hire
desks. A premier conference centre in the domestic terminal offers four
meeting rooms, seating up to 14 delegates, a seminar facility for up to
50 delegates and a conference room for up to 120 delegates.
Germany
Frankfurt Airport (FRA)
Frankfurt
is the hub of Lufthansa, the German national carrier. There are two
passenger terminals at the airport. Terminal 1 is divided into
concourses A, B and C and terminal 2 is divided into concourses D and E.
Lufthansa also maintains a dedicated terminal for use by their First
Class passengers. Qantas Club members can use the Cathay Pacific
Business Lounge, which is located in terminal 2, in the departure lounge
on Level 3, near Gate E7. Frankfurt airport has two passenger railway
facilities. The Regional Train Station (platforms 1-3) is located
beneath terminal 1. RegionalExpress (RE) and StadtExpress (SE) trains
serve many other destinations. The AirRail Terminal long-distance train
station (platforms 4-7) is linked via a connector building to terminal
1. The Airport Conference Centre in Frankfurt Airport Centre, across a
pedestrian bridge from terminal 1, offers 28 conference rooms for up to
200 people, audiovisual equipment, Internet access, secretarial
services, interpreters, office supplies, videoconferencing and catering.
There are also presentation rooms for hire in terminal 2. Many of the
major airlines have executive lounges and the airport's Europe City Club
lounge, located on level 3 of Terminal 1, is open to all for a fee.
Australia
Brisbane Airport
Brisbane
Airport has a domestic and international terminal. The Qantas Club
Lounge is located on level 1 near Gate 22 of the domestic airport and
level 4, after you pass customs in the international terminal. Qantas'
dedicated business lounge is on the departure level of the domestic
terminal to the right of The Qantas Club. Virgin Blue's The Lounge is
located opposite Gate 41 in the domestic terminal. A taxi ride from the
airport to the city is approximately $35. Trains depart regularly
outside both terminals to Brisbane city and the Gold Coast.
Melbourne Tullamarine Airport
There
are three terminals at Melbourne's Tullamarine Airport. T1 is the
Qantas domestic terminal, T2 is the international terminal and T3 is
shared by Virgin Blue and Regional Express. Terminals are about five
minutes apart. The airport is located 22kms or about 25 minutes from the
city centre. The Qantas Club lounge in the domestic terminal is located
on level one and Virgin Blue's The Lounge is in terminal 3. Qantas
International lounge is on level 1 of T2.
Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport
There
are three terminals at Sydney Airport. T1 is the international
terminal, T2 is domestic and T3 is serviced by Qantas. The airport is
about 10kms or 25 minutes to the city. Virgin Blue's The Lounge is
located in the domestic terminal through security, immediately to the
right or via escalator from the food court on the concourse level.
Qantas Club domestic lounge is located on the second floor, opposite
Gate 49 of T2 and on the departures level, airside opposite gates 4 and 5
in T3. Qantas international lounge is airside, pier B via the
escalators. There is also a dedicated Qantas business lounge in T3, on
the departure concourse opposite gate 4.
