£100 million investment
Throughout 2012 Virgin Atlantic invested £100m modernising their fleet of aircraft and introduced fantastic new products and services. Passengers can benefit from brand new seats in Economy and Premium Economy, refreshed Upper Class Suites on our 747s or the new Upper Class Suites on A330s, innovative new meal services and a shiny new in-flight entertainment system, JAM, in every class. Following in the footsteps of the shiny new JFK Clubhouse, late October saw the opening of a brand new Newark Clubhouse which was relocated after security to allow passengers maximum relaxation time before boarding.
Flying Upper Class? A complimentary chauffeur driven car will take you to and from the airport*. At London Heathrow Terminal 3, you’ll enjoy the facilities of the Upper Class Wing with Drive Thru Check In and Private Security Channel**, taking you just 10 minutes from car to Clubhouse. Once onboard you’ll discover your Upper Class Suite, with one of the longest fully flat beds in business class. There’s also an onboard bar, our new Upper Class meal service and our friendly, attentive service. If you’re arriving back into London Heathrow, come back down to earth in the Revivals lounge, with a cooked breakfast and hot shower.
If you’re flying Premium Economy you’ll enjoy dedicated check in and priority boarding, a preflight glass of bubbly, your choice of three tasty meals, and an after dinner liqueur. The Premium Economy seat is covered in soft, purple leather and it’s one of the biggest in its class, with a seat width of 21 inches, up to 38 inch pitch, plus footrest and there’s laptop power in every seat. On landing, you’re one of the first off the plane, and because your bags have priority tags, they’re first off the plane too.
