New Hilton Garden Inn hotels in Africa
Hotel giant Hilton plans to open 14 Hilton Garden Inn properties in Africa over the next three years. It currently has four mid-scale brand properties on the continent:
- Morocco - Hilton Garden Inn Tanger City Center (opened March 2016) – the brand's initial entry into Africa, it's steps away from the beach and the famed Tanger City Mall
- Kenya - Hilton Garden Inn Nairobi Airport (opened February 2018) – Hilton Garden Inn’s first property in Kenya is a welcoming oasis close to Nairobi’s international airport
- Zambia - Hilton Garden Inn Lusaka Society Business Park (opened August 2018) – Zambia’s first Hilton hotel, it's centrally located in the heart of Lusaka City, great for business travellers
- Botswana - Hilton Garden Inn Gaborone (opened February 2019) – Hilton’s first hotel in the country, it's centrally located in the city's new Central Business District, so perfect for business travellers.
The Hilton Garden Inn Kampala in Uganda and Hilton Garden Inn Mbabane in Swaziland are due to open this month, while Hilton Garden Inn Windhoek in Namibia is due to open later this year.
Toronto's Fairmont Royal York refurbishment nearly complete
The Fairmont Royal York in Toronto is preparing to reveal its transformed look this summer, coinciding with the hotel’s 90th anniversary celebration.
Now in the final phase of a multi-year renovation, the highly-anticipated reveal will include a transformed arrival and check-in experience, reimagined dining venues, contemporary event and meeting spaces, and a new Fairmont Gold experience.
