Cutting costs as business grows

Parts of the ISG Group have been valued Corporate Traveller clients since 2005. We have delivered a dedicated personal service where all travel bookings were made via phone or email. In recent years ISG Fit Out, a division of the ISG Group, has won several contracts to build data centres in the Nordic countries and Western Europe.

This has resulted in a significant increase in ISG staff travelling to these destinations from the UK; flight bookings for the Fit Out division increased by 833% between 2012 and 2014.

Time to adapt

Due to this exponential growth in short-haul air transactions, Corporate Traveller took a proactive approach and recommended that ISG Fit Out implemented CT Portal, our exclusive online travel management solution. With a single sign on, CT Portal gives ISG Fit Out access to:

CT Portal was recommended not only to increase productivity of the travel bookers at ISG Fit Out by giving them direct access to a travel booking system, but also to reduce transaction fees: by booking short-haul flights via the online tool, ISG would make a saving of 60% on each transaction fee.

At no additional cost to ISG, Corporate Traveller successfully implemented CT Portal in summer 2014. After a series of scheduled calls with our expert online implementation team, Corporate Traveller then conducted in-depth user training to ensure the ISG team were confident in using the tool to its maximum benefit. CT Portal was then rolled out for use across three locations in the UK, Finland and the Netherlands.

The results

Since implementation, ISG have saved a total of £9,600 in transaction fees over the period August–December 2014 which has reduced their overall travel spend by 2%. This result has been achieved with an adoption rate of 40% over the five month period. Ideally this will grow to the optimum level of 70% by June 2015. Corporate Traveller however still takes a ‘blended’ approach to ISG’s travel. Whilst travel bookers utilise the online tool to make reservations, they still have 24/7 access to the offline support they have been used to and the expertise of their dedicated Travel Consultant for more complex travel requirements.
